Description
Plurk is another Twitter/Pownce clone, however it has a really quite interesting timeline approach, you can scroll easily along it using click-and-drag. You can get an invite by clicking the link below, or leaving a comment and I'll email you one.

I wish this were just more than a Twitter clone, because the interface is really, really nice. One of the nicest I've seen in a while.
Maybe Twitter can buy Plurk and integrate this display into their own systems...

After using it, while the interface is pretty, it isn't very useable. For example, the number of replies to the right hand side moves when you mouse over it - bad usability flaw there...
Also what will happen to the timeline when you are following hundreds of people? How will they all fit?

It would be interesting to be able to highlight certain "favorites" and see them via timeline for easy access, and then have everyone else dropped underneath vertically.
But then again, while the timeline looks really beautiful, what purpose does it really serve to be able to see the updates in a timeline? It's quicker to just read updates on Twitter, and while you don't get to see them all positioned relative to each other in space and time, who really cares? Do I really need that level of functionality?
It's a very pretty interface but seems like someone had a nice idea for a design without actually thinking first about functionality or implementation. A simple case of putting the cart before the horse, if you will.
